Laser Technology for Advanced Embroidery and Decoration Processes

Appliqués, precise cut-outs and engraved effects often require additional production steps and separate systems in textile decoration. GMI develops solutions that integrate laser cutting and engraving directly into the embroidery process.

The Italian company has been developing and manufacturing laser systems and software solutions for embroidery businesses since the 1980s – ranging from small decoration companies to industrial-scale production environments.

At the centre of the portfolio is the GMI MODA Laser Bridge, a laser cutting and engraving system mounted directly onto the embroidery machine. It enables the precise and repeatable production of appliqués, reverse appliqués, perforations, micro-holes, patches, labels and decorative cutting and engraving effects.

The portfolio is complemented by the Stilista 3 design software for embroidery, laser and rhinestone applications, along with additional specialised solutions for automated and networked production environments.

GMI systems are used in fashion, promotional textiles, home textiles, as well as the leather and footwear industries, demonstrating how traditional embroidery processes can be expanded through additional production technologies.
