Gunold is one of the leading suppliers of embroidery threads, backings and accessories, and has accompanied multi-head embroidery since 1927 – from its early days drawing and punching cards to today's industrial textile decoration. The family-owned company from Stockstadt am Main supplies embroidery businesses across Europe and worldwide.

Two brands for professionals and hobbyists

Under the Gunold® brand the company brings together its range for professional, industrial embroidery, while its sister brand SULKY® offers a similarly broad programme for the hobby and creative market. Gunold thus covers the full spectrum from contract embroidery to creative DIY.

Threads for every application

The thread range spans glossy polyester threads, natural threads made from viscose and cotton, and metallic threads. It is complemented by speciality threads with striking effects – such as the glow-in-the-dark GLOWY, which appears in soft pastels by day and glows in the dark, and flame-retardant threads for technical uses.

Backings, films and accessories

In addition, Gunold supplies embroidery backings and films, effect fabrics for appliqués and patches, needles and further accessories. Predominantly manufactured within the EU, these materials stand for selected quality, excellent processing properties and reliable durability in everyday production.
